Travel by road
We are located in East Sheen, between Putney and Richmond in South-West London. Avenue Gardens is a turning directly off the South Circular (A205) just before the shops of East Sheen begin when approaching from the east: look out on the right for a motor showroom (Practical Car and Van Rental) which is on the corner of Avenue Gardens. Unlimited free parking is generally available in the road.
Travel by public transport
By train from Waterloo direct to Mortlake (20-minute journey, 4 trains an hour). Follow the map (see above) to walk to us from the station (10 minutes).
Or by tube to Hammersmith (Piccadilly/District line) which is 20 minutes from Central London. On leaving the station look for signs to the Lower Bus Station outside the shopping mall (not the Upper Bus Station above the mall). Head for Stop K and take the 33 bus towards Richmond/Fulwell. Alight at Gilpin Avenue / Kings Road (Stop L) in East Sheen (by the Sheen Garden Centre) - this is on Upper Richmond Road West (the South Circular) immediately after you see a motor showroom (Practical Car and Van Rental) on the right. Buses are every 8 minutes and the journey time from Hammersmith is about 20 minutes. We are a 2-minute walk from the bus stop. The 33 bus route is shown by a red line on the map.
Bus 337 (shown by the purple line on the map) runs every 12 minutes between Clapham Junction and Richmond, stopping outside Putney East station (District Line) and close to Putney station (main line) en route.
There are several other bus services in the immediate vicinity including the 207, which runs every 4-6 minutes between its terminus in nearby Avondale Road and Hammersmith station, and the 493 which runs every 15 minutes from our nearest bus stop to Roehampton, Wimbledon and Tooting.
